The hotel is wonderfully located just next to Vondelpark and is within easy reach of many sites in Amsterdam. The room I had was equipped with tea and coffee making facilities, which is a very nice change from most 'budget' hotels I have stayed in.
Breakfast is not served until 8am which is rather late when not on holiday.
The girls who worked the desk in the afternoons were great. I don't know either name, but one checked us in on Friday evening and the other was there Saturday evening. Both were extremely friendly and helpful when we had questions. They even offered some great advice that we didn't know we needed. :~) Our room was fairly quiet although we could hear the people above us clomping around in the morning. Also it was great that we could buy tickets for many museums at the front desk and skip the lines at the museums.
The room was a bit dirty. The first night we had no hand towels or soap. The tables in the breakfast room are a bit crowded together which made it challenging.
Fantastic little hotel. Our room was really nice and the beds were the comfiest I have ever slept in! Only a 10 minute walk into Amsterdam centre and tram stops pretty much right outside hotel.
The only problem we had was with the noise - you can hear other people in their rooms and the cleaners are very noisy when cleaning the rooms.
I loved the location of the hotel - right off the park and very near to museums. The staff was incredibly helpful with travel recommendations and room accomodations.
The room was more dated that I expected, but perfectly suitable.
Everything was normal. Friendly staff. Clean. perfect kingsize bed ))). Our room was well equipped. 8 min walk from the Leidsepein. Large park was behind the hotel.
Little bit expencive. Also some noise from the neibours
Excellent location, near the leidseplein 10 minute walk, small but cozy rooms, flatscreen TV. I stayed in room 336 on the top floor for three days and liked it. Nice receptionist, booked us a taxi to schiphol for 35 euro's, we had to buy a voucher at the desk. Good housekeeping.
On the 2nd day the room wasn't cleaned, we did went out late out of the room, but even still a bit dissapointing. The heater was making noise of water moving the first two nights. Quiet location but the hotel is very noisy, you can hear people talk through the walls. I would however recommend it because of the location and price!
the room, the location, the friendly staff...
breakfast is a bit too expensive !! cheaper and bigger breakfasts in town!
Room were not cleaned, only beds. Coffee tea etc not filled up. Weared and old towels. If the room was serviced, they servcied it only at 4 o' clock. reservation was mixed up. we asked for room on the same floor, did not happen. The wallpaper in the room are coming off the wall. The hotel is renovating.
The male poerter. Vwery friendly and helpful.
The staff were helpful and very friendly. The park at the back of the hotel was lovely and a nice way to walk into the centre of Amsterdam
This was not worth the £100 we paid. The curtains were thick with dust. The double bed was two beds pushed together with two single duvets. We were cold as the radiators were hardly on!. The telephone didn't work in our horrible room. We had no towels and had to go to reception at 7pm, to be told we had to wait for half an hour. The breakfast was not good and not worth the extra money either. Side plates for dinner plates was a let down. I think this hotel should be more like £50 a night. The photos have been cleverly taken -beware!!! What a let down! I have never left negative feed back
good brakfast, nice reception people, no fuss to let me stay a few extra hours after 12 on departure day
hearing noise from other rooms and corridor
People at the front desk were very helpful and kind. Location is very good for museums and city trips. Nice breakfast but we missed pastries, eggs and bacon and similar.
Bathroom facilities were too old fashioned and small.
The neighborhood near the Vondelpark is very quiet. The center of Amsterdam is not far to visit the town.
The room for the breakfast is too small for the size of the hotel.
Amazing location with an entrance to Vondelpark right around the corner from the hotel door. Quiet area with hardly any noise at night-time. Basement room 101 has a lovely unofficial terrace.
Slight musty, watery smell, but thats near enough everywhere in Amsterdam! Also not enough towels for two people.
We could get back at any time. We felt safe at night.
I was disappointed with the breakfast- the breads were not great, the choice was very limited, and the space was small. It would be nice to have more cheese options, and perhaps nuts.
